I'm was there, doing graduate work in musicology on the influence of Edvard Grieg on American music, after graduating from Boston University. It's filled with history and home to one of the country's great universities, the Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU)
During the summer, there's almost no night during the winter, the climate is surprisingly mild. It is a beautiful, rocking university town about 500 k from Oslo on the west coast. If you've never visited Trondheim, Norway, you should, particularly if you're a student, more particularly if you're a gay student.
